NORTH WHIDBEY ISLAND, WASHINGTON
We released our cartoon map of South Whidbey Island, Washington last year. Now comes North Whidbey Island. We spent some time on Whidbey Island as part of the map project and found it to be a wonderful place to spend a weekend, or to live. If you don't have time to visit the gorgeous San Juan Islands, Whidbey Island is an easy option. It has much of the picture-postcard pastoral flavor of the San Juan Islands, but it's easier to get to. From the south, catch a ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton on Whidbey Island, or from Port Townsend to Keystone on Whidbey Island. The island is accessible by bridge from the north, via scenic Desception Pass Bridge.
