MARION COUNTY, OREGON
Marion County is a land of contrasts. A part of the sprawling Willamette Valley, much of the county is fertile farmland. To the east are hundreds of square miles of remote wilderness, like Opal Creek and Bull of the Woods Wilderness. To the South is Santiam Canyon and Detroit Lake, one of Oregon's great tourist destinations. Marion County factoid: Oregon's oldest covered bridge, the Gallon House, is near Oregon's "Garden City", Silverton.
