Bear Country Lodge is an off-the-beaten-track resort on Harrisburg Lake, deep in the Adironcack Mountains. One of the difficulties with drawing a map like this is that I have not made a research trip to the resort. So in a sense, I'm drawing "blind", not knowing exactly what is situatied where. Photo reference from the client is helpful, but it is not always adequate. So a lot of moving, shifting and adjusting of objects and elements in the illustration was required to place everything to the client's satisfaction. And areas of the illustration were greatly enlarged and exaggerated to emphasize their importance, which required moving and shifting in other areas to accomodate the distortion. There is always a lot of "behind the scenes" work on a fun map that the public is unaware of.
